Search Tips

Within search boxes:

  • For exact names and phrases use quotes
    ("Burnaby Town Planning Commission" or "Board of Works")
  • Use / for OR
    (deed / deeds)
  • Use ! for NOT
    (lake ! burnaby lake)

Special Characters:

  • Use * to truncate
    (e.g. vote* finds
    vote,
    voter,
    voters, etc.)
  • Use >, <, >=, <= for greater or less than
    (e.g. <= 1900 finds dates earlier than 1900 inclusive)
  • Use : to search a range
    (e.g. 1892:1900, example:sample)
